The nearby river Coquet winds its way through the Cheviot valley, and is famous for its autumn salmon and sea trout run. There is also a healthy stock of native brown trout to test even the keenest of anglers, and the upper reaches offer classic fly-fishing within the splendour of the Cheviot hills.
